Since the Summer of 1999, Big Bear Lake has been converting from a rental facility to a private ownership marina -- "The Dock Club ". This project meets the goals and objectives of the City of Big Bear Lake's Village Specific Plan and at the same time provides broad base private ownership of the facility by slip and moorage users.

The Dock Club concept involves the developers subdividing the fee land and selling undivided interest ownership (650 units) to individual buyers. Ancillary amenities at the marina include commercial uses in the form of concessions such as a proposed restaurant, boat rentals, tour boat, marine hardware store, new and used boat sales and mechanical services all for Dock Club Owner, guest and general public use.
